5:00am the alarm goes again, luckily I'm staying clear of lots of booze... I'm preparing sandwiches, fruit, laptops and all I will need for the long drive to Skipton. Today is a big project review day with Deliver Net some 12 months after the implementation really kicked off !!
6:00am I am on my way and progress is good until just south of Nottingham, motorway widening.... I guess we are used to this with the whole Watford to Luton experience for the past two years, but 15 miles of widening again... luckily I need to come here less often now.
I arrive at 10:10 ok 10 minutes late on a 205 mile journey, not the end of the world. We get stuck into the meeting and to be honest it has taken longer than expected but the bottom line is i-Tr@der has helped transform the company from a company that receives orders and then processes them to a company that just ships orders entered by customers directly. The savings in such a business are huge, not only this they can increase sales and maintain the fixed costs as they are, eutopia!
Ok we have some tweaks to do and optimising but in general the company has a streamlined business system and an IT cost which is way less than comparable businesses.
We part company smiles and happy, a few of the guys get some i-Tr@der Fleeces and I'm on the way back to Watford. I have to stop at one of the services to grab some sleep as I am very tired. 45 Minutes later again I am on the way. A quick trip to Asda to get some bread, ham and a beer for tonight to chill before I go to sleep.
Once I get back to the ranch I am on the Skype to my friend in Germany and now I am looking at 12 midnight before I can get into bed. Tomorrow I have to get up at 4am for my trip to Hungary..... will I ever get to sleep ?
