Link4Growth helping people to get Google Plus!

I have to admit this week has been really hectic and I have felt a little bit detached at times from my normal online social connectivity. Last night however I spent a bit of time catching up with some of the things that had been going on... and whilst I hadn't been watching some amazing things had been happening...

Now some of you reading this might be aware that +Link4Growth runs a variety of workshops all with the purpose of increasing people's ability to participate in their communities, become a detective online to connect with like minded folk and to generally operate things which much more 'Intent'. Many people on Social media platforms are there because people have said 'you must be on social media' and there is little or no thought about how each of the platforms should be used to help them engage with the kind of people that they might want to connect with... that doesn't mean just business by the way!!

One of our workshops is "Google+ with Intent" and quite a few of those in +Link4Growth have now attended this particular 1/2 day session... and it is about the results of this that has prompted me to write this blog post...

Last night whilst perusing Twitter, Google+, Facebook and LinkedIn... to my surprise I saw a number of published Google Plus public hangouts from Link4Growth people who have been through the training... this is absolutely awesome... I am just so proud of these people to have taken the information, worked on some of their ideas and now started to use these tools and integrate them into their online strategy...

I just want to take a little bit of time to focus on two examples in particular... the first is +Nishit Kotak who has now started a series on Health and interviewed a very good friend and nutrition expert +Varsha Khatri on a public hangout. This was all about food allergies and the importance of digestion... I leave it to you to watch the hangout and enjoy the content which you can find here below... but I'm thinking how superb that Nishit and Varsha can come together and using free tools bring such an important subject to a wider audience... this is the power of Google+ and once people start to appreciate what it can do for their 'authority' then the faster they can fulfil their purpose and bring their expertise to those that need it!!

The second example I want to bring to your attention is a couple of guys who came onto the Saturday Google Plus with Intent workshop we ran, and who are absolutely passionate about giving kids from between the ages of 11 to 14 some really important life skills... this is stuff that doesn't feature on the curriculum but is so vital in these formative years... some kids naturally use these skills (but don't know they have them) whilst others struggle and find this period in their lives something they have to get through rather than enjoyable... +Jatinder Bhogal and his brother in-law +Harbinder Mathadu are using Public Hangouts to 'get the ball rolling', 'get the message out there' ... and I have a feeling before long they will be attracting an audience to them of people who not only share their view, but whom want to do something about it as well... take a look at their first attempt... remember, they've never done this before and it is a testimony to the Google Plus platform that literally anyone can pick up this technology and use it to get their messages out there!

These are just two examples, and for me it is just a very special moment that we are now beginning to see that technology is now easy enough and integrated enough that it is becoming useable for regular people in the street to begin to communicate much more effectively than ever before...

Google Plus is a superb platform which integrates many of the basic communication tools we all need to use in our business but it does it with one login, in one place and with the vision to get everything to operate seamlessly together... and it is all FREE too!!

We have been using Hangouts in +Link4Growth for a few weeks now for our #L4GSoundbites which are designed to give those people in Link4Growth a platform to communicate their message to a wider audience and demonstrate how easy it is to use this technology and start to build your authority in your chosen area! Seems like it has been a bit of a catalyst too... long may it continue!!

The recent #L4GSoundbite including +Dipa Kotak and +Alistair Moffat can be seen below...
